Fleet
The F/V Clipper Epic was originally constructed in Coos Bay, Oregon in 1979. The vessel was subsequently lengthened and converted to a longliner at AK-WA shipyard in 1991 and later acquired and renamed by BWS legacy company Clipper Seafoods in 1997, becoming the third and largest of the Clipper boats.
The Clipper Epic is an aft house vessel with a standard crew of 22 and a freezer hold capacity of 18,500 cases, equivalent to 400 metric tons of finished product, making it the second largest vessel in the BWS fleet. The Clipper Epic’s wide beam makes it exceptionally stable in rough weather.
Captain Scott “Deuce” Harnden worked with BWS legacy company Clipper Seafoods starting in 1989, first as a chief engineer and later as captain.
Deuce retained his captain position when Clipper Seafoods merged with Blue North Fisheries in 2019 to form Bristol Wave Seafoods.
